SkilmNET News
- April 5, 2003 - I had to alter some DNS records so that I could
host a website for someone. While I was doing that I decided
to make some DNS changes for SkilmNET too. This caused intermittent
availability of SkilmNET for a few days.
- February 18, 2003 - Baltimore got a record snowfall over the
last few days. Check out some pictures
of us digging out that I posted on the Skillman Family
website.
- November 25, 2002 - I removed the telnet link on the main page. If you
have an account, you can telnet to SkilmNET's shell server by pointing
your terminal software at tux.skilmnet.net
- November 23, 2002 - SkilmNET underwent a network upgrade/re-organization last night. As a result, our network
address changed. The website and all the other user services were unavailable until the address problem could work itself
out. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
- October 30, 2002 - There hasn't been a whole lot of website news lately, but several sites
have been updated. Check out the Hosted Sites page and take a look at the
pages that were put up by SkilmNET users!
- July 12, 2002 - While we were away on vacation in Chicago, SkilmNET's Internet connection had a few problems. The website, e-mail, and user accounts were all down for about a week. I'm sorry for the inconvenience!
- June 11, 2002 - SkilmNET has a brand new name! You can now reach SkilmNET's webpage through the http://www.skilmnet.net URL! The old skilmnet.dhs.org address is no longer functioning. This also applies to all other services, including e-mail - user@skilmnet.net is the new format.
- June 4, 2002 - Want to know about every reference to "pico" on SkilmNET? How about everything having to do with Phil? Just use the handy Search link on the menu!
- May 31, 2002 - If your ISP is equipped to resolve OpenNIC DNS TLDs, you can now reach SkilmNET by going to http://www.peteskillman.geek. If you'd like more information on OpenNIC and how to set it up on your computer, go to their website.
- May 22, 2002 - SkilmNET has a new Webmail program, SquirrelMail. It has many more features than SkilmNET's old Webmail program, NOCC - including multiple folders, an addressbook, and several user-changable options. It is accessable via the Webmail button on the
menu.
- May 7, 2002 - Say hello to the new SkilmNET! I finally got sick of the old site design and re-did it. This is the finished product - and as always, it's 100% hand-coded ;-). Feel free to e-mail webmaster@skilmnet.net with any comments you may have about the design.
